Christ Connectors
FTC Team #12775
About the Team
We are Christ Connectors, Team 12775, from Christ the King Lutheran School in Sebewaing, Michigan. Since 2007, our school has participated in FIRST Programs at the FLL level, advancing four times to the State level. In the last three years alone we have won the Mechanical Design Award, Judges Award, and Research Award. When Michigan took on the task to streamline FIRST Robotics and move Middle School to FTC, we were eager to see what it was all about and try our hand at it! This year is our third year participating in FTC. What we look forward to most about being in FTC is the chance to build more complicated robots and enjoy being a part of a larger team with other schools. We cannot wait to see how other teams accomplish the same goals we strive for.
Our team is comprised of nine 6th through 8th graders from a small rural school in the Thumb of Michigan.
At the beginning of the season we decided to separate our group into three sections - Programming, Building, and Bookkeepers. The three most experienced team members were chosen to be project managers for these sections, but from there the project managers chose what section they wanted to head and other members of the team chose what group they wanted to concentrate in. By letting us choose, it allowed us to take better ownership of the project and it kept us accountable to get the job done.
