Participants are guided by two or more adults or Coaches. FIRST LEGO League teams have 10 members from grades 3-5, they research a real-world problem such as food safety, recycling, energy, etc., and are challenged to develop a solution. They also must design, build, and program an autonomous robot using LEGO MINDSTORMS®, which they then compete with on a table-top playing field.
